Purchasing Manager – North Aurora, IL

General Overview:   

Catalyst Acoustics Group is looking for a Purchasing Manager who will be responsible for planning, negotiating, and purchasing direct materials associated with production as well as indirect material. Metrics include quality, on-time delivery, vendor development and management, maintaining optimum inventory levels and negotiating cost effective pricing.  This position will also have supervisory duties over the purchasing department employees.  This position will be based out of the Catalyst Acoustics Group North Aurora Manufacturing Campus in North Aurora, IL.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Responsible to manage employees engaged in purchasing activities.  
  • Hire, train, assist employees, enforce company policies, establish performance standards, evaluate employee status.
  • Formulate, direct, and participate in development and implementation of goals and objectives for the purchasing department.
  • Coordinate purchasing policies and common vendors with all company functions to secure uniform and competitive pricing.
  • Develop and manage a select supplier base able to provide competitive quality products on time. 
  • Develop blanket orders for production materials with releases to limit company liability.
  • Develop secondary sources of supply where applicable.
  • Monitor inventory parameters and implement changes as necessary to achieve company objectives.
  • Investigate new developments in material and supplies to reduce cost and improve quality.
  • Perform competitive analysis regarding competitors’ sources.
  • Stay abreast of current procurement techniques and educate suppliers as well as internal departments to maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Expedite orders as necessary.
  • Investigate product or service delays and quality issues and communicate to appropriate departments to ensure production and project managers receive updates.  
  • Survey current and prospective suppliers per policy.
  • Prepares standard and ad hoc reports to assess and communicate purchasing progress and metrics.
  • Maintains purchasing documentation for billing and reference.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

  • Visual ERP software knowledge (preferred however not required, if not Visual, past experience with using an ERP system is required)

Educational/Experience Requirements:  

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Materials Management or related field required.  A minimum of 5 years of direct material purchasing experience.  APICS certification is a plus, however not required.   Ability to learn a diverse engineered product line.  Must possess the ability to see the “big” picture and lead by example.

Safety Coordinator – North Aurora, IL

General Overview:   

Catalyst Acoustics is looking for a detailed- oriented safety coordinator to help ensure all health and safety standards are followed within the workplace. The safety coordinator will work closely with the safety manager on educating and monitoring employees to ensure they understand and follow all established safety procedures and policies.  Responsible to ensure company conformance with governmental regulation requirements.   This position will be based out of the Catalyst Acoustics Group North Aurora Manufacturing Campus in North Aurora, IL.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Assist the safety manager in conducting job hazard analysis to identify unsafe acts and/or unsafe conditions and formulate corrective actions to reduce or eliminate these hazards from the workplace
  • Conduct safety audits and inspection throughout the facility and report the findings back the safety manager
  • 5S ideology with safety by design for the production floor.  
  • Develop and implement safety rules and training programs for employees. 
  • Conduct safety orientation program for new employees.
  • Investigate accidents, prepare and file required reports and analyze nature of accident to determine cause and necessary corrective action.
  • Responsible as a staff administrator for ensuring all departments and employees comply with safety rules and regulations although having no line authority over these areas.
  • Inspect and evaluate work areas for hazards and unsafe working conditions and take corrective action.
  • Manage company hazard control program, maintain records and distribute required forms to proper parties, check materials for proper labeling, handling, storage and movement.
  • Investigate, verify, and provide care for injured employees, arrange for medical treatment as needed and monitor and follow up on employee progress to ensure prompt return to work.
  • Audit safety supplies, coordinate and receive approval for purchasing  and personal protection equipment.
  • Prepares standard and ad hoc reports to assess and communicate safety programs and metrics.

Production Supervisor – North Aurora, IL

General Overview:   

The Production Supervisor carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, for their designated department of responsibility.  Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing the work; addressing and resolving problems and complaints, training, motivating, and providing feedback to the employees; Conducting performance appraisals and disciplining employees.  This position will be based out of the Catalyst Acoustics Group North Aurora Manufacturing Campus in North Aurora, IL.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Supervises the employees responsible for meeting acceptable efficiency and production levels.
  • Interpreting the production schedule and communicating with CAG’s production scheduler daily. This may also include daily attendance in daily production meetings.
  • Ensuring that material is pulled, cut and staged in the proper order to run down the production line in the most efficient manner that meets our customer’s requirements.
  • Understand the expected production rate and report to manager when the line is not producing as expected.
  • Be aware of changes from one part number to the next and convey this information to all employees on the line.
  • Ensure that all employees know how to perform their operations correctly for each part running down the line.
  • Work to cross-train employees on the line to insure there are back-ups for employees who are absent or on vacation.
  • Eventually be capable of operating all equipment on the line (except possibly welding).
  • Coordinate with upstream and downstream activities.
  • Provides feedback to management regarding issues or problems on a job, prior to the deadline.
  • Root cause analysis with regards to production issues arising from quality, material, or scheduling work orders.
  • Administrative duties for time and attendance.

Sales Engineer – North Aurora, IL

Responsibilities
 

 Understand customer requirements and integrate IAC Acoustics products and solutions into the customers’ environments.

  • Develop and prepare proposals for new and existing customers.
  • Serve as a face of the IAC Acoustics brand while traveling to customer sites and meeting with customers to conduct sales calls.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and internal team members.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Performs other related duties to support the sales team as needed.
  • Creating long-term plans for development of sales markets.

Basic Qualifications
 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in an industrial environment, with a strong record of sustained success.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to display a sense of urgency.
  • Proficiency of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Willingness and availability to travel 50% of the time.
  • Ability to discuss highly technical concepts to all audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A four (4) year degree, preferably in a relevant Engineering or Technical field of study or may substituted relevant sales experience
  • Experience in Technology Sales
  • Experience with acoustics or acoustic products
